DESCRIPTION: Every year on our trip through the parks we are greeted by a sentinel, a totem who presides over lakes, hills and valleys... a great, fat fish grasped within his golden talons. And although he is carved of wood, he holds within his 'bird body' the spirit of his living brothers who soar above. It is their home we travel through, their spirits which float and hover above us, defining valley features with their fluid lines of flight. They fill their bellies, fill their spirits and, as always, they return to perch and ponder."
ABOUT ARTIST: Barbara received her formal training in the visual arts at the Alberta College of Art & Design in Calgary. Her works in painting, stained & fused glass, quilting, sculpture and jewellery have been featured in a number of exhibitions since 1980. Ms. Trudeau is an award-winning artist who works professionally in stained glass, designing and creating panels for architectural display. |
