"This fused and painted glass panel seeks to illustrate the brilliance of a bright, sunny afternoon in the marsh. The painterly style is graphic in nature and has expressionist influences. The combination of the techniques used seeks to reveal a dimensional aspect not regularly seen in conventional stained glass. I chose this bird because of its grace and elegant movement"
Angela has been enjoying the continual learning experience the stained glass world has to offer for the past 16 years. After training in Graphic Design and Fine Arts, she attended the Banff School of Fine Arts. She worked at various artistic pursuits until joining forces with her husband s family guild of stained glass artists. With this panel, Angela decided to take fused glass a step further. The pieces are in the kiln for up to 13 hours for initial firing before being painted with vitreous paint and fired again for 10 hours.
