"The Steller's Jay is the provincial bird of British Columbia. Throughout the fall and winter, these stunning birds are a common sight at the suet feeder on my deck and I enjoy watching their antics. This panel, showing a pair of Steller's Jays sitting amidst autumn foliage, is part of a series that portray birds commonly seen in the Columbia Valley"
Gary pursued a successful career as a medical scientist, professor and administrator at the University of Saskatchewan. He began to explore glass as an artistic medium some 25 years ago. He says: "I have always been powerfully attracted to the beauty of the natural world that surrounds us - from the intricate microscopic details of biological structure that I studied as a scientist to the scenic panoramas that inspire me on a walk. In observing my work, I want each viewer to develop a deeper appreciation of the natural wonders that enrich our lives at every moment." Gary is represented
by the Artym Gallery, Invermere.
