ARTIST: Betty Hope
DIMENSIONS: 18" x 19"
PRICE: $450
DESCRIPTION: Like many nature enthusiasts, Betty Hope includes the Bald Eagle in her list of favourite birds. Canada s largest bird of prey may weigh as much as 7 kilograms (15.4 lbs) and has a wingspan of 2 meters (6.5 ft.). Although these soaring birds are abundant in this region, overall in Canada, they have less than a 50 percent chance of reaching adulthood. As an adult, they are more likely to obtain food by hunting. Younger birds rely more on scavenging and piracy. The ability to see 3 4 times farther than humans is the origin of the term "eagle eye"!

She finds inspiration in living near Kootenay National Park and enjoys the wild birds of this beautiful area. Betty has enjoyed doing crafts and painting for much of her life.
